John Illsley
Background
- John qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. He is an experienced finance director with blue chip and private equity backed organisations. He specialises in corporate turnarounds with a track record of leading and building businesses and managing the exit process.
- Having carried out the audit for businesses including Gordons, Pimms and American Express John joined Shell Oil as a Finance Manager and Corporate Accountant in 1985. In 1990 John was appointed Finance Director of Loseley Dairy Products, part of Booker plc which he helped grow to a leading position.
- In 1995, John joined GEC plc subsidiary AB Dick-Itek as Finance Director before being appointed Managing Director of Virgin Bride. At Virgin Bride John repositioned the underperforming niche clothing retailer to become a market leader in the UK.
- John became Finance Director of Rocket Lifestyle, a Unilever subsidiary, in 2002, manufacturing and retailing chilled meal kits and in 2004 became Finance and Operations Director of ISC, the media rights holder of the FIA World Rally Championships.
- John joined Intangible Business in 2009 and has been involved in consulting on M&A activity, purchase price allocations and dispute resolution.
