China Mobile Brand Value Reached USD30.8bn

China Mobile Ltd. (SEHK: 0941 and NYSE: CHL) ranked No. 1 among the world's telecoms carriers in terms of brand value, following by Vodafone, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Orange, Docomo, KDDI, and Sprint, according to a report by Intangible Business.
Compared with its peers, China Mobile has been luring most subscribers. Its brand value reached USD 30.8 billion and the number of its mobile phone users totaled 440 million. On August 10, 2008, the Chinese telecoms operator's market value hit USD 132.58 billion in the New York stock market, outracing Vodafone. However, the company still fell behind in influence, noted Wang Jianzhou, president of China Mobile.
China Mobile posted net profits of CNY 82.59 billion for January-September 2008, leaping 37.9% from a year ago. Operating revenues amounted to CNY 301.396 billion, jumping 16.6% year on year. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 14.3% to CNY 159.197 billion.
