Scotland is the most potent country of origin for drinks brands around the globe, according to a survey of the "power 100" wine and spirits brands by leading consultancy Intangible Business.
Johnnie Walker (3), Ballantines (9) Chivas Regal (11), Dewars (13) and J& B(16) lead the way, followed by Grants (27), Famous Grouse (32), 100 Pipers (36), and Havana Club rum (37), the only non-whisky in Scotland's list and also the brand rated to have the best growth prospects.
There are 21 whiskies in the 100, with seven of the top 10 from Scotland, and Diageo is rated top brand owner followed by Bacardi Martini and Pernod Ricard.
Scotland is followed on the country list by Russia, US, France and Cuba, with England in seventh place.
