Japan Tobacco International
JTI commissioned Intangible Business to develop the content and analysis for its brand plans for 52 regional brands. This was to be in the context of JTI's global portfolio and across all markets. It was to be used by the company's senior executive and management in Japan and Geneva as a planning tool to allocate resource and measure performance across the group.
L'Oreal
L'Oreal brought proceedings in the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, against a number of defendants essentially claiming that they had been importing, distributing and selling copies of some of its luxury perfumes, namely Trésor and Miracle by Lancôme and Anaïs Anaïs and Noa by Cacharel. Intangible Business acted as expert witness.
Laura Ashley
Laura Ashley asked Intangible Business to be an expert witness in the International Chamber of Commerce courts in Paris for the purpose of evaluating the change in value of the Laura Ashley brand on a global scale between the period 1995 to 2002 and to evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation and management during that period.
Lec
Lec asked Intangible Business to provide insight into the potential licensing opportunities for its brand into the small domestic appliance (SDA) market within the UK. Also requested was an evaluation of potential licensing partners and proposals, a financial valuation of the potential opportunity and an overview of the SDA market in the UK.
Medicsight
Medicsight Inc's business was to conceive, develop and commercialise innovative medical applications. It needed an independent opinion on the value of 15,000,000 Medicsight plc shares issued to Medicsight Inc in November 2001 and applied in settling an outstanding purchase consideration due to Nightingale Technologies Limited.
National Association of Realtors
NAR asked Intangible Business to evaluate the strength and value of the Realtor brand in the US and to identify opportunities for growth and realization of value. Intangible Business was asked to determine the annual financial value derived from the use of the Realtor brand to the individual member in terms of annual financial benefits and the average lifetime value of the brand to the average Realtor and the total value of the collective brand to all members.
