Acquisition Forty Creek Distillery

Brief
In 2014, Campari acquired Forty Creek Distillery, a leading independently owned spirits company in Canada. The acquisition included the Forty Creek Whisky brand, the fastest growing brand in the Canadian whisky category in Canada and well positioned in the high potential US market.
The total purchase price was approximately €120.5 million on a cash free / debt free basis.
Approach
Intangible Business advised Campari on fair values of acquired assets and liabilities (plant and equipment, land and buildings, liquid and finished goods, brands and other intangibles).
Result
Intangible Business worked closely with Campari management and auditors to help provide and support high quality and informative financial reporting by Campari, in connection with this acquisition for management purposes and which complied with International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS 3).
